Who Is Kolyn?

Starting off as an avid photo taker on my iPhone, my love for photography began when I would visit Perkins Rowe, a shopping center in my hometown of Baton Rouge, LA, with my best friend Cam. We would prep our outfits and hang out with the intention of taking photos of ourselves, looking stylish, and showcasing our worth on social media. As time went on, I felt the need to upgrade from our standard iPhones and delve deeper into fashion photography.

Inspired by the celebrities and fashionistas who appeared on our timelines, wearing clothes we dreamed of or could only buy occasionally, I asked my father for a camera. For Christmas, I received my first camera, a Canon Rebel T7, and immediately began taking photos as a passionate hobby. Seeing friends in marvelous outfits, I would instinctively say, “Man, you need to let me take some pics, you look amazing.” It all started from there.

I began shooting at local car meets, around school, and even during my birthday, which featured a vintage-themed photoshoot in Lafayette. My first concept shoot was at a local hair store with two female friends, Imani and Sydni. My passion only thrived and grew from there. Through networking and showcasing my talents, I was presented with opportunities to shoot for my high school’s basketball, football, and softball teams at Liberty Magnet High in Baton Rouge. I also documented friends’ birthdays, which produced some of my most cherished photos, including my best shoot ever for a graduation.

Throughout the rest of 2023-24 , I continued to grow my brand to what it is today. Realizing the creative possibilities through my camera lens, I understood that, together with my clients, we could create images that captured not only moments but also energy, aura, nostalgia, beauty, creativity, and pleasantness. This is something I strive to re-enact with every client, aiming to exceed expectations as LynVision grows in experience, equipment, and clientele.
